ABOUT ME
My name is Stephanie Tripolitaki and this is Studio Strip!!
I am a contemporary artist with a heavy focus on emotive contemporary work as well as the female form and ideals that challenge the viewer.
Why Studio Strip?
Growing up I was given the nickname Trip, a shortening of my last name and then with my first name being Steph, you have Strip! Me being me I do love a double meaning, making people think, creating shock or being a bit cheeky, so Strip can mean many things and I love that.
Where can you fine me?
My work is currently in Acid Baby Studios in Eastbourne as part of their resident artists. I also have my work displayed in businesses where I live as well as having a place to showcase my work on Brick Lane.
You can also find me on Saatchi Art, Singulart and I have also been featured in House & Gardens Magazine, as well as being published in Artist Close Up Magazine
About my work
I would describe my painting style as contemporary with an element of urban pop art, I use acrylic paint whilst adding texture and depth with chalk, oil pastels and spray paint.
I draw inspiration from my own experiences in life and have a deep connection to women and their place in society today. My practise is very connected to shared personal experiences, I believe connection is ultimately why we are here.
I use a lot of my own poetry, words and phrases I have heard in my life in my work and layer them on top of each other on the canvas.
